Ceramic design and manufacture is our primary business and we produce a wide range of goods from tableware and giftware to tiles for kitchens, bathrooms and fireplaces. As part of our development process, and just for fun, we also produce one-off art pieces which are sold through our gallery at Platform 22 and at other selected galleries.

Most of our work is bespoke and we specialise in the hand decoration and painting of plates, bowls, jugs, tankards and mugs for all sorts of special occasions and events. These items are a popular way to celebrate weddings, anniversaries, baby namings and moving to a new house. We also decorate tiles and we have produced designs incorporating family portraits and rural scenes, and we have been asked to match the tile design with antique fabrics used for the soft furnishings! Essentially we can commit whatever your desired design onto ceramics, and the range of pottery shapes and forms is almost limitless!

Although much of what we do is made to commission we have recently started to develop some of our own designs producing short runs of plates and jugs. These include our "Cherry Tree" leaf motif, featuring a variety of insect life including bumble bees, ladybirds, butterflies and beetles, and our very popular "Cockerel" jugs. These are all hand decorated, taking up to three hours to paint, and each piece is unique, needless to say we can customise these with lettering etc if required.

Producing art pieces gives us a chance to experiment with shapes, colours, patterns and techniques and often these experimental pieces throw up ideas which are carried forward into our mainstream products. Aside from the decorative platters and bowls we produce a variety of slip-cast pieces and sculptural works in terracotta. All of these pieces find their way onto the shelves of Platform 22 and many feature in shows, exhibitions and galleries around Aberdeenshire and northeast Scotland.
